Article 257667 is supposed to tell me "How to uninstall outlook from Office 2000". It starts out with the general comment "To uninstall Outlook 2000, start the Microsoft Office Installer in Maintenance mode and then remove Outlook from the list of Office components." I can't find a " Microsoft Office Installer " let alone instructions to put it into maintenance mode. When I insert CD1 of Office 2000 Professional, I hear the Windowws sound then... nothing. Explore is no help; don't know what to select

It an assumption on my part that Outlook became corrupt from the two updates I made last night. Here's the background I was hoping would spark assistance from another forum. No such luck... yet

I installed MS Office Professional on my new computer a month or so ago
I've used it for years on a portable. Everything was running fine until las
night. I was having trouble reformating dates from a column of data I go

for Front Page. When everything was done, and I shut down Windows XP, I go

has ever been affected negatively

Today I fired up Outlook and it rusns as slow as molasses. I ran a viru
scan. Nothing! I don't know it there's a relation here but there may be
Anyone have an idea
Clarification: This is noticible with the remionders that pop up. Attemotin
to click them and delay them causes the cursor to move very slowly. It seem
that the computer isn't responding quickly to commands involving thos
pop-ups as well as mail messages.I just noticed that messages say at the to

The rest of the article you cited includes instructions to invoke the
Microsoft Office Installer (aka Office setup) in Maintenance Mode (.e. to do
something than a fresh install).

Before removing Outlook though, you might want the "Detect and Repair"
option in Maintenance Mode and see if the installer can fix things for you.

You might also want to check to see if you have a Windows Restore Point that
might be able to put your system back to where it was before you installed
the dubious Y2K update. Here's some more information about the Windows XP
System Restore feature
