Hello. I will probably get a new computer with Windows XP Home Edition this November. In the meantime, I'm trying to learn more about this operating system. One question comes to mind.

Let's say I install a program that is buggy and malfunctions. After repeated attempts to fix it, I decide to remove this program from my computer. It seems to me there are two ways to do that:

1) Use the Add/Remove Programs feature, or....

2) Use System Restore and take the computer back to a time before the program was installed.

Which option is healthier for the computer?

Hi,

Add & Remove, use SR when the problems resist the easy solution.

System Restore is used for problems with the operating system and not for uninstalling individual programs. To remove programs from your system you should used Add/Remove Programs (Control panel) or the uninstall utility that is included with most WIN compatible programs.
