When I installed Vista, Norton Internet Security 2007 was corrupted.I knew
this would happen but I thought I could unistall it with Vista. This is a very
annoying problem.

Every Time I try to uninstall it It want me to sign into a account with a
supervisor rank.I do not know how to set myself to supervisor (I think it has
some thing to do with parental controls , dont realy know were)

Every Time I try to reinstall it to repair Norton Internet Security 2007 it
wont let me becuse A driver is blocked.
Basicly I need to know how to set up a supervisor account. Also when it ask
me to log on to a supervisor account , I try to log on to an administor(a
different one)And it repeatly say that my password is wrong when it is not.

I dont mind helping windows Vista but I dont like going to the point of
being a guiny (I know its spelt wrong)pig.

Thankyou

In my opinion, most Norton solutions are terrible and Norton takes over
the computer which is not good for users. Norton and AOL are bloatware
to me and that is why I do not use them with the exception of Goback for
the 98SE side of my computer which has not yet failed when I need to
roll back.

I did not think that the Norton products were ready for Vista yet?? Due to
kernel changes and what not I would expect it to complain all the time if
work at all.

Steer clear from Norton and use something that is Vista ready or Vista beta:

AVG
AVAST
eTrust (was Beta 2 ready don't know if RC1 as I had issues)
Trend Internet security
Soon Microsoft Onecare 1.5

Hope this helps

Chris

p.s. Norton is bloatware and a resource hog(!)

Did you try to run the Norton uninstall by right clicking on the menu entry
and choosing Run As Administrator? You may need to do a Custom installation
of Vista to get rid of the problem.

Menu Entry ?Weres that?I have just figured out how to change my account to a
supervisor but when i try to do anything I cant.I am an administrator.

It's almost impossible to uninstall NIS from XP on which it's supported,
without doing a clean install of the OS without NIS, let alone from Vista
after it's been corrupted by the upgrade. You're also better off in XP
without NIS.

I would recommend you remove NIS first then do the upgrade. Did you image
the system so you can restore it?

That's what Beta testing is all about. You need to be prepared, be
competent in handling hardware/software conflicts, and know how to restore
the system.

No I did not image
the system so you can restore it?
Is there another way to do this becuase i realy realy dont want to reintall
windows XP.

Thanks

Reinstall XP

A good warning is to let the user beware and next time -- install
Windows Vista completely on a separate partition and back up your system
ASAP.

You have two choices: Reinstall XP or Custom installation of Vista. Since
a reinstallation of XP installs just that and no apps, why don't you just do
a Custom Installation of Vista? It takes about half an hour and you are
spending half a week on this thread.
