Do I have to go into safe mode to the add/remove part?
{E}In safe mode, some of the protective services which these programs use to
ensure that they aren't removed, are not running, so they are easier to
remºve.
Getting into Windows Safe Mode.

I thought U could just go to add/remove and just do a remove.
{E} Try to remove Beta 1 (or any program) going to Add/Remove, after you
rebot, check in Windows/Programs File, you will be for a sorprise, You will
find MSAS with other sud-directories, that is why my sugestion, get ready of
any trace, and CCleaner complete the job.
Is this CC thing something U keep on your machine and use on a reg. basis? >
{E} I, and many users, frecuentle use this program (special the Issues), and
I like it, because is safe, efective and fast. I run CCleaner twice, because
still on the second run, sometimes find more junk. (No all the time, but I
like be sure)

I quote plun--a regular contributor here:
This is a standard question about CCleaner so it´s answered many times.
The first time a user run CCleaner this is a common challenge.
Hundreds of MB of junk and hundreds of registry faults. But CCleaner is
safe and also saves a registrybackup.
It´s just to remove this junkyard an start over including a clean Index.dat
and no cookies and thats great.

This needs to be run in safe mode.
Run the above remover in safe mode on all 3 settings(windows, apps & issues)
and clear anything found reboot and see if it still exists.
Registry
CCleaner even has a built-in Registry Cleaner. It's not the best (not
CCleaner's main function), but it will find invaild registry entries that
most Registry Cleaners will not. Unlike the Disk Cleaners with a Registry
Cleaner, CCleaner does really fast scanning for Registry Issues. The reason
is CCleaner doesn't want to effect Windows performance or effect any
applications. It's better to be safe than sorry!

I hope this information is helpful.
