internet explorer hater

I need to uninstall Microsoft Internet Explorer. i have
an HP computer and it came with it. I am completely fed
up with it. I receive constant pop-ups, which bugs me
especially when I'm running a program and it is
interrupted by them. i do not want to mess with it
anymore, it interferes with my other internet experiences
and makes my computer experience very unpleasant. When I
try to delete the Internet Explorer files, I get an error
that says "access denied, make sure the disk(??) is not
full or write-protected and that the file is not
currently in use. This is very annoying, not being able
to delete files from MY computer which I bought. Anyone
have any suggestions?

Try installing a pop-up blocker. Or something like Ad-Aware, SpyBot Search
and Destroy or simply the Google Tool Bar with Pop-Up Blocker. Uninstalling
IE may not be a good idea. Unless you take steps to block this stuff, you
will get it with any browser you care to use.
