On this page, there is a download that offers to keep the user up-to-date
with Vista-compatible products, drivers, etc. After I downloaded it, I saw
that the it added a (I think it's called a "Sidebar") to my desktop, with
such gadgets as clock, local weather info, etc. But I am not really
interested in having a sidebar. I couldn't find anything via >control panel>
uninstall programs. And my questionis how to uninstall the "Download
Gadgets" (from the url above).

Look in "updates" section on left hand side...maybe in there. If you
can identify which file it is, right click on the file name and an
"Uninstall" prompt will appear.

If you just want to disable it for now from starting when Windows
starts, right click on the rectangle with round ends at the top of the
sidebar. Select "Properties" and uncheck the "Start when Windows loads"
(or something similar).

Hi, Alexis.

I like the Sidebar. I have gadgets for weather, a countdown to an
anticipated event, stock market indexes, and others. Most of the time, the
Sidebar is hidden behind other windows that I have open.

If I didn't like the Sidebar, I would right-click on it, then click
Properties and UNcheck the top button that says "Start Sidebar when Windows
starts". Then I would right-click the Sidebar again and click Close
Sidebar.

But I don't know any way to uninstall the Sidebar completely.
