I have a USB device (cell phone) that is showing up fine in Device Manager,
however, it and the computer are not communicating. You know... when you
plug in a USB device & get the little yellow pop-up bubble at the bottom...
Anyway, I decided to uninstall & reinstall the device driver. Every single
time, it hangs when I click on yes to complete the uninstall. Then, it comes
up "not responding". Anyone have any ideas why this is happening? Is there
another way to uninstall drivers? Thanks!

Rich,

Thanks for the help, but that didn't work, either (sigh). It won't let me
remove *anything*. It hangs at the Confirm Device Removal box after I click

Sheri, did you have all your USB Devices disconnected before you
attempted to Uninstall the USB Controllers?

Sheri, go back into Device Manager>USB Controllers. rt click on each one
and choose Uninstall. Restart and let WinXP
reinstall them.
