How can I do this without the disk? A friend has loaded
2000 on his computer and it doesnt seem to be working
worth a darn, so we want to uninstall it and get it off
then go back to his win98. We have lost the disk (2000).
Can win 98 or 95 be installed over 2000 and how

You can erase everything on the HDD and reinstall whichever you want.
Use a 98se bootdisk in DOS Prompt "type" format c:

Take a look at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;103049

However, if you system does not seem to be functioning, it may not be possible to revert to a previous operating system (assuming this was an upgrade installation).

Did you check the HCL before you installed Windows 2000?
