I am trying to install Windows XP Professional on a
computer that has Windows 2000 Server on it. XP will not
install over 2000. I need to take 2000 off the computer. I
have tried to use format at a C:\> prompt but it will not
let me. I am at a loss and would really like some help.

Thanks

I thought WinXP gives you the option of partitioning/
formatting the hard disk during installation?

Here are a couple of ways to do it outside WinXP:
- Get a Win98 boot disk from www.bootdisk.com
and use fdisk.exe to repartition your disk.
- Get delpart.exe from http://www.svrops.com/svrops/dwnldutil.htm
and run it with your Win98 boot disk to delete any
partition that you cannot delete with fdisk.exe
(e.g. logical NTFS drives).
