Linda

Have downloaded windows 2000,been using for about 6
months and am not happy with this system at all, everytime
I get on there I have some new problem come up,I knew when
I downloaded that I had certain programs that I had to
update that had a compatibility issue with 2000,but
downloaded and updated all the files I thought I needed or
was told I needed now I have all these problems, the
windows update does not work proberly,it will install some
and some it won't and then it tells me installs failed and
then I go to program files on pc and there are the files
that they said failed. I have been having problems
downloading yahoo messenger, it won't download all the
files I need and then I uninstalled it and went back to
install again and yahoo tells me I still have a previous
version running on pc,so I assume that the uninstaller is
not working and try to update or install new installer but
pc tells there is nothing wrong with the one I have, This
is really getting to be a problem and would appeciate any
and all help I can get to resolve these issues. Thank You

This sounds like a pirated copy and may not be a legit copy of Windows
2000.

Windows 2000, running on good hardware, is as, if not more, stable than
a Linux box, or any other OS that I've experienced in 28 years of
working with computers.

If you didn't get a legal copy of 2000 you only have yourself to blame.

If you don't have a protected internet connection you are also most
likely compromised and all the patches in the world wont help you - at
least get a NAT device to put between your computer and your internet
connection.

Once you get a good copy of 2000, go on-line and download all the
drivers for your hardware from the vendors sites, burn them on to CD-R
disks, then wipe the computer and reinstall from scratch.
