I installed the trial version of Office 2007 over Office Small Business 2003.
I pretty quickly decided not to upgrade, so I uninstalled the trial with
Add/Remove Programs. The first hiccup was that I needed to reinstall 2003. I
elected to completely uninstall (what was left of) 2003 and install fresh.
So now I've installed my original Office 2003 Small Business. Outlook opens
but does not display my IMAP pst folder. I go into E-mail Accounts and check
my IMAP account settings. When I click Next to save, I get this error
message: "The IMAP store could not be properly updated. You may want to
restart Outlook before proceeding."
I get the same error if I delete the IMAP account and recreate it.
Additionally, I cannot create a new pst file through any avenue. If I go to
File>New>Outlook Data File, the Type of Storage list is blank and I cannot do
anything but cancel. Same through Options, Mail Setup tab, Data Files, and
click the Add button.
Thanks for any help. This is infuriating! I've already tried reinstalling a
second time. If it weren't for the fact that I need to maintain Outlook to
provide technical assistance for my office, I ditch it for Thunderbird in a
flash.
