Debra C.

I just tried to upgrade from XP Home to XP Professional
and need to return to the XP Home edition that came
installed on my computer.

The documentation states I can return to my original
operating system through the "add or remove programs"
option of the control panel. Unfortunately, when I try
to do this, there is no Windows XP (Professional - as it
suggests, or otherwise) option in the add/remove programs
panel.

One of my programs isn't working correctly and I need to
finish a project that uses this program. I should have
finished before attempting the upgrade, but thought it
might be "easier" with XP Pro. Lesson learned...

ANY help would be much appreciated.

Thank you
Debra C.

yuo can not downgrade from Pro to Home. Either format and reinstall XP Home
or live with XP Pro.

Do you have the program in question on a disk so that you can try
reinstalling the program?

Before doing that do you have your project data safely backed up?

There is no uninstall option when you upgrade over XP Home to Pro. This is
also true if you upgrade from Windows NT/2000 to XP. The uninstall option is
only available if you upgrade Windows 98/Me to XP. Lesson learned. You have
to do a clean install to go back to Home.

What program worked in Home that doesn't in Pro? You might find that you
have to reinstall the app again or use Compatibility mode.
