Hello!
I have installed the MSN 6 and i don't want to use the
Windows Messenger. I try to uninstall it, but I simply
can't. Even, everytime I start the Outlook Express, it
comes the WM too. Is there a way by which at least I can
start my Outlook Express without having to load by all
means the WM too? I looked in WM Preferences, hoping that
I could decide whether the WM should or not start with
Windows or with Outlook Express, but I didn't find it
either. Thanks for any help you could give me.

Greetings José,

You can remove Windows Messenger, but if you do, you will be preventing Remote Assistance,
Whiteboard, Application Sharing and any other applications that utilize Messenger from
working (or loading without problems). You can just disable Windows Messenger by opening it
up, click Tools, Options, Preferences tab and unchecking 'Run this program when Windows
starts'. As well, you can disable it further by going to Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove
Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components on the left, uncheck Windows Messenger in the
components list and click Next >. Note: this is only available if you've installed Windows
XP Service Pack 1 -- if you haven't, visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com. This won't
remove Windows Messenger, but it will let it stay out of your way.

As well, if you're an Outlook Express user (you mentioned it), close Outlook Express, then
download and run this .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/stopmessenger_oe.reg
This will stop Windows Messenger from loading with Outlook Express.
