My Dell Inspiron 8000 came with WindowsME. After I
installed Windows 2000 my DVD-ROM drive stopped working.
I want to uninstall Win2000 and reinstall WinME. I can't
figure out how to do it, does anyone have a clue?

Thanks,
elishwind

There is no uninstall. To wipe the drive, some ways include; boot a win98/ME
startup disk, run fdisk and delete all partition information found (as long
as NTFS is primary). Or boot the Windows 2000 CD-Rom or setup disks and when
you get to the point, delete the existing NTFS and or other partitions
found, then abort the install. Or use a utility named delpart. Once removed
you can partition and format the drive as you wish.

Dave and Bruce told you how to do this, but I wonder whether Dell
(or the device manufacturer) has a W2k driver for that DVD-ROM drive?
Might be worth checking.
