I am trying to find information out about removing Windows Vista Home Basic
off my machine, which dual boots between Windowx XP Home SP2 and Vista RC1.
If I run XP System Recover/BootFix/MBR will that take me back to my original
XP Boot menu, then I can reformat the partition that Vista is on?

I installed the wrong beta copy of Vista, that is why I am asking.

The quickest way, insert the Vista DVD while in XP, don't let it run.

go to a CMD prompt and type in there:
X:\boot\bootsect /nt52 C:

You will see an error because the bootsector was in use but it will proceed,
after a restart you will have only XP as option.
Format the Vista partition from within XP and you could do a reinstall again,
without any problem for XP.
