I have Vista Businedd installed on a the V:\partition as a dual boot which
was done from within xp.
I now want to remove the dual boot installation of Vista and install it on a
new seperate hard drive.
What are the correct steps to take to remove the installation of Vista in
this configuration?
There ae so many answers to this when you google that I am afraid to follow
them. Could you please give a good way that this should be done.
Thanks

The advice I have seen is that the simplest way is to install
VISTABOOTPro which is a free utility you can download -- google on that
name -- and with that you have a user interface that is much more
friendly than having to edit files by hand.

I believe it even tells you how to go about doing what you want to do
which basically is to uninstall the boot loading that VISTA installs
and revert to the other OS (BTW I installed VISTABOOTPro in my XP
installation before trying to install VISTA but I don't think that is
necessary).

Once you have done that if you reboot you just go to the other OS, XP
in my case, and then you can reformat the drive that VISTA was on and
get rid of all traces of it.

All that assumes you have no personal files on the VISTA drive that you
want to keep <s>
