I want to uninstall Terminal Server from a Windows 2003 server that is our
Primary DC and is running Active Directory. Then i want to set up the server
to use Remote Desktop. When i go to uninstall this service i get two
messages. I don't know what the first one is and the second stopped me in my
tracks all together. First it asks if i want to keep "a custom security
setting" RDP-Tcp. What is RDP-Tcp. Do i need to keep it. Then the next window
tell me "This option removes Terminal Server from your computer. Programs
that you installed while Terminal Server was installed will no longer work
and will have to be reinstalled. What exactly will stop working? Will Active
Directory continue to work. Will the DNS server continue to work? I really
don't have much on this server other then AD and DNS. It also has a file
server role. The DNS is for Active Directory and we use forwarding for our
ISP. Will i have to reinstall Virus Scan? Can someone please give me some
input on this.

rdp-tcp is the Remote Desktop Protocol connection. It seems like
you made some changes to the security of the protocol.
I would say "No, don't keep any custom settings". That will
(hopefull, I've never encountered this) leave you with a default
rdp-tcp connection with standard security.

About the applications: AD and DNS are most likely to continue
working as before. The warning that you received applies in the
first place to application which were installed for multi-user
access. I'm not so sure about Virus Scan, that depends on the
application itself and how you installed it.
