I installed a music studio 7 on my hp pavilion 750n
computer; I made the mistake of installing a new sound
card, Blaster 16 PCI without uninstalling the default
sound card. I have uninstalled Blaster 16 PCI. How do I
uninstall the sound card that came with the computer?
There is nothing in the manuals, and now I have no sound.

Do you have "on-board" sound ie. a sound processor built into your
motherboard ?

If yes, then you need to make sure that its been disabled. Boot up your PC
and as soon as you get the first "DOS" screen press DEL (or F10) to enter
the BIOS set up. Go into the various layers - its no good me telling you
which because the guys and gals at Award/Pheonix have just updated certain
BIOS's and when I flashed mine, it no longer corresponds to the book it came
with. Disable the audio card (and at the same time the modem - if you have
an on-board job).

If no, and you have a soundcard that came with the computer, why on earth
did you get another ? Yank the first one out, is all.

Make sure the pilots of the card you're yanking out have all been
un-installed - Control Pannel > Add/Remove Programmes.

If you're turning the on-board audio off, again, make sure all its pilots
etc. have been deleted. See your manual for that.

Cheers,
Jerry
