i read a message in general from gary <annom> on 6/8/05
4:43p and then the responce from linuxgirl

it read somethign like
'you cannot simply unistall msas that it leaves 800
entries and you can remove 600 with good reg cleaner the
others you will ahve to remove with reg finder such as
jv16 and then search and remove all msas files including
dlls and maybe you'll be okay
is this true?????
i'm not a computer guru and hope they come up with an
easier removal

An extreme exaggeration:

I just installed, ran and then uninstalled MSAS and ran Reg Lite search for
registry entries for antispyware and here is what I found:

After install and run:
34 Keys
8 Values
217 data matches

After uninstall:
10 Keys
4 Values
34 data matches

And, of course, because I saw all these straggler entries in RegLite, I also
deleted them very easily.

RegLite is Registrar Lite and can be found at
http://www.resplendence.com/reglite

Some folks seem to think that an uninstall should remove all traces of a
product, such that no one would ever know that it had been installed.

Very few uninstallers manage that trick in this day and age.

There is an uninstall choice under add or remove programs, and it does what
it is intended to do. It does leave behind some files and some registry
entries. I believe that these are left intentionally for valid and well
thought out reasons, myself.

For the average person, simply using add or remove programs and choosing
uninstall is all that is needed.

Right you are Ken, er I mean Bill.
