Alright there,
My friend gave me a PC a year ago,now there is so much
junk on it,i want to start from scratch, delete the lot and
then reinstall windows 2000
I only have some stuff that i want to keep on it but am
willing to get rid of the lot if it's easier,so i need all
the advise i can get
Thanks

Backup your important files (which you should do once a
week anyway, unless you like to live dangerously), then
boot from your Win2000 CD and start the installation.
Allow the disk to be formatted when prompted.

by back up do you mean move to another hardrive
then win2000 CD and the rest will be self-explainatry?

You never gave away any details about your disk & drive
structure, so I cannot tell you what's where. Suffice it to
say that the Win2000 installation process allows you to
format the system drive (usually drive C:) while preserving
the other drivers. Hence anything important on drive C:
must be saved on some other drive.

Thank you
