Bit of a problem. Had a number of conflicts over the past two weeks and
just tried to reinstall XP Pro over the old version (installation disc is
normal XP, I have XP Pro Sp(1) now on machine having updated it some months
ago).
The reinstallation seemed to go well until it re-boots the machine. As part
of the start-up process I then get what appears to be two versions of XP to
choose from, XP Pro and XP Pro Setup. It defaults to setup and auto boots
after 5 seconds, I then get error message about a disc failure. I can
select XP Pro and all is well (apart from the conflicts that are still
there).
When ever I re-boot my machine I now have the setup choice of XP and the
original to choose from, the setup version (now the default) goes tits up
and so I have to manually select my original version of XP Pro.
Potentially one way around this is to remove XP from the system and
reinstall (I think). How do you uninstall your OS?
Many thanks in advance.
