How do I un install a program that tries to install and configure itself
unsuccessfully each time I turn my laptop on. I'm running XP Pro.

Bob;
The first thing to try is to install the program properly so it can be
uninstalled.
Otherwise contact the program manufacturer for uninstall support.

Hi Bob,

Which application is attempting to install every time? Also is it using
the windows installer to do this? I have seen instances where this is
caused by a problem with windows installer. You can try doing this from
the run dialog box :

msiexec /unreg
msiexec /regserver

This will generaly fix a few issues that can arise but without more
information i can not suggest anything else.

Yes, it is the windows installer. The program is apparently, photogallery. I
did not knowingly launch such an install program. The windows installer is
also notifying me to uninstall Norton Antivirus and reinstall it. This may be
a virus. I ended up using a windows registry cleaner and the photogallery
seems to have gone away, but it is still trying to repair NAV. NAV does not
suport the repair function, so it refuses the command. I would really like to
delete the item in the queue. Windows has to have a queue area or format. I'm
afraid of temporarily uninstalling my NAV. It is my protection.

I downloaded the windows uninstaller and deleted the original installation
program. I also used a windows registry cleaner. I then uninstalled NAV and
reinstalled it. It seems to be fixed. I don't really know what caused it. But
the fix worked. Thanks, Bob

It seems that some porgrams are just uncompatible with XP. I really don't
know how to find solutions for them. I don't have that dose of expereinence
to let you know what happens with the drivers, but something is coocking
very hot vhen you install and preinstall programs and their drivers. Some
drivers were staying installed so...i have a feeling that as time goes by
they mix up. So i suggest uninstall/install XP again or other OS you are
using. And than freshly install the device or program.
