I am trying to Upload Norton 2006 onto Windows XP but I have an old version
of 2003 on the computer. (I upgraded to Windows XP from ME about 1 year ago).
I have run Install ActiveX and all other reccommendations.

I tried to remove Norton 2003 from Add/Remove Programs and get error message
"Error 1606: Could not access network location "..\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Desktop. The reccommended solution was to add another user as
administrator because of the registry settings. I did this and have the same
results. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, the Norton 2003 does not show on my Start - All Programs list.
Thanks for any solutions you may have

Symantec's suggested resolution is to create another User account.
That's pathetic, IMO.

Suggest you first attempt to uninstall NAV 2003 by following these steps:

Removing Norton AntiVirus 2003 or earlier by using the Rnav2003.exe
removal utility when Add/Remove programs fails

Hello,

Don't know if it's still around, but I have a file I downloaded a few
years ago (Rnav2003.exe) which removes NAV 2003. You might google for
it or search Norton's website. I still it use it at times for
customers who have the same problem you're having.
