I have purchased a used laptop with Win 2000 - installed AVG and now wish to
uninstall and reinstall. It tells me I must be an admin to do that. I have
signed on as Admin/admin and my user name and password but it seems that it
was once linked to a domain with a long letter/number name. AVG has a
problem and I can't get it resolved with out uninstalling.

How can I uninstall/ software on this machine.

Thanks for any help

This was helpful in letting me know I am still 'in trouble'. bought machine
on ebay and it has only 6gig hd. It seems like it is very hard/intricate to
reset the admin on this machine. I do appreciate the information you
presented and will study it for a workaround.
Thanks

The first link google produced
http://www.petri.co.il/forgot_administrator_password.htm
had 5 free tools listed to reset password.
