I know this is the forum for IE6 - but I have a problem I can't find a
solution to...

How do I uninstall IE7 completely - I DO NOT LIKE IT - it's too slow and its
UGLY

I have tried the steps listed in another thread and in plain english - IT
DOES NOT WORK

I want IE7 off my computer - can someone PLEASE tell me how - in plain
english how to get rid of it?

I guess you like to leap before you look.
Do you not understand the meaning of the term BETA?

IMHO, installing a BETA Web Browser on anything other than a test computer = BAD IDEA

NOTE:
Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview support will not be available from Microsoft.
Limited peer-to-peer support is available via this newsgroup.

NOTE:
Evaluation of Internet Explorer 7 should start now, but the software should not be used on production systems in
mission-critical environments. Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview will only run on Windows® XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)
systems, but will ultimately be available for Windows Vista, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, and Windows Server
2003.

You should have the option to uninstall IE7 from Add or Remove Programs if you first check the box at the top - "Show
Updates"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First try uninstalling via Add/Remove Programs. (Make sure Show Updates box
is checked)

If IE7 isn't found there, try the following, compiled by/courtesy of MVP
Sandi Hardmeier:

Run the commandline

%windir%\$NtUninstallie7bet2p$\spuninst\spuninst.exe

(replace %windir% with the path to your Windows folder, most often
c:\windows). Make sure view hidden folders is enabled via Control Panel,
Folder Options.

or

Go to the key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer

Right click on Internet Explorer > New String Value > Name that value
InstalledByUser (the value of the new String should be your User Account
name) > Uninstall IE7 via Add/Remove Programs.

Beta testers of IE7 Public Preview are asked to post their comments to
microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general newsgroup.
