Uninstall/Change Programs

I am trying to uninstall a few programmes, but I am waiting forever for the
list to be populated-it just doesn't seem to be happening at all. Eventually
the whole screen just freezes. How do I get at my programes list to uninstall
them?
 
Look in the folders in which the programs were installed and see if they
included an UNINSTALL.EXE (or something similar) and double-click on it -
the uninstall process should start.
 
Thanks Jerry. Strangely no sign of those files except in one program and
clicking on it just froze everything again-strange because I don't recall
doing anything to hide them-any more suggestions? I reckon something has
happened with some of the Microsoft updates-I've had no problems till the
last couple of weeks.
 
Try running the system file checker, see help
