Uninstaling Internet explorer

When I open a link, I get a new, BLANK, window. I have
followed every step in the Microsoft Knowledge Base
Artilce 281679 and nothing has worked. THe last bit of
advice is: uninstall and reinstall Internet explorer.

How?

Using 'Add/Remove windows components' in the control
panel only takes away the desktop and taskbar icons, and
seems to not truly uninstall, and then re-checking the
tickbox (after booting), does not work.

Any suggestions?

Thank you
Marius

Thank you DOn

Tried all your suggestions, and those in the links: no
luck. Copies oleaut32.dll from a similar configured
computer to window/system and system32. No luck.

Is the only answer to reinstal IE?

I use XP home and IE 6

Thank you very much.

Marius (sent a seperate e-mail as well)

Try replacing the oleaut32.dll file
http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm
If that doesn't fix things, post back. Which OS?

I do know that in some cases, none of the usual fixes work. I had to
reinstall IE5.5 to fix the "blank window" problem.
