Unidentified network with Windows Vista - solved in SP1?

I have a functioning XP network with Zyxel 335 router. 3 wireless and 1 wired
connection. Works OK. Installed a new computer with windows vista wired (old
USB wireless driver didn´t work with Vista). Only local access to
unidentified network. IP-adress 169.... and not 192.168.1.34 which the router
says it should have. When I changed to the same network name all computers
could see each other but later the Vista computer was missing. It´s very
confusing.
What should I do? My son wants to reach the internet from his computer and
we want to share his printer.
I´ve tried support from my ISP and router. ISP wont help -says it´s problem
with Vista..Zyxel says it will be solved in Vista SP1. Does anybody know if
this is the case and when is that released?
 
IP 169.254.x.x is compatible issue. SP1 may not fix all this issue. You may
try to use static IP or remove the IPv6 completely. These links may help,

Now I can see the other XP-computers on the network and reach the internet
from my Vista.
To change to static IP-adress I had to go to another XP-computer and run
IPCONFIG /ALL to se what the netmask, gateway and DNS-server adresses were.
The IP-adress I found on the router.
Previously I had uncehecked the IPv6 so I don´t know if that was necessay or
not.
