Have you got Kazaa installed? If so, a program called Promulgate Universe
comes with it, and can cause this issue. It can be uninstalled through Add &
Remove in the Control Panel, and will not affect your use of Kazaa.
Another known cause is an older version of a Creative sound driver, updating
it resolves the issue.
