Is the disk compressed? Windows XP cannot read compressed disk.
You will have to expand it on a machine which can read it and save
the files to media which Windows XP can read.

try copying the files to your hard drive and open them from there.

And how's he supposed to do that if the system can't read the disk, braniac?
At least read the question properly before replying - don't just respond
with the first thing that comes into your head.

XP has known problems reading certain types of floppy formats. I would
recommend starting with some floppies formatted in the XP machine and
use those to copy your data from the older system.
