Computer Illiterate

jkkliiif.dll is infected with a virus and I can't clean it or quarantine it
or delete it or anything. I've been searching on microsoft.com for an update
that will replace that file with a good copy of it but I can't seem to find
one. Anyone have suggestions?

Computer Illiterate,

The file is part of the infection, not part of XP. Suggest you visit a
reputable anti-malware forum for assistance. Please take the time to
read the guidelines of the forum that you choose:

So are you telling me that the file doesn't need to be on my computer at all?
Should I use HijackThis to delete the file on reboot??

As my Brother Mow told you, your computer is infected with the Vundo trojan
- possibly one of the variants that is very difficult to remove. You will
need guided help. Go to one of the specialty forums that Mow gave you the
links for, register, and read its posting FAQ. You will generally be asked
to:

1. Download and execute HiJack This! (HJT) -
http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/threat_analytics/HJTInstall.exe

2. Disable Notepad's word wrap - In Notepad.exe; Format --> uncheck; "Word
wrap"

3. Download/run Deckard's System Scanner -
http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/Deckard/dss.exe

4. Save the scan results (Main.txt and Extra.txt)

5. And then post the contents of Main.txt and Extra.txt in your post at the
forum you chose. DO NOT POST LOGS IN THE MS NEWSGROUPS.

If you can't do the work yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea), take the machine to a professional computer repair
shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). Please be
aware that not all local shops are skilled at removing malware and even if
they are, your computer may be so infested that Windows will need to be
clean-installed. If possible, have all your data backed up before you take
the machine into a shop.

PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR HJT LOG HERE IN THE MS NEWSGROUPS.

Malke

Yes, this File not a system core or any thing in fact it is from the make of
the Viral infection.
You will find it hard to remove it yourself, especially if it was Zalob or
Vundo variants infestation, so download the Hijackthis and post your Log to
one of many forums that specialised in analysing Hijackthis log. Please don't
send your log here!.
Make sure don't try to change permissions or log into your bank account
until you get rid of this infestation.
This infection or the virus/viral infection install itself as Admin on your
machine and it will take an expert to guide you to eliminate it from your
machine.
HTH.
