After 2 trouble free years my computer now suddenly shuts down within
several minutes of having a Linksys wireless network adapter attached to a
USB port. The network adapter works fine up to the moment of shutdown and
the computer works fine til the network card is attached. Also the network
adapter causes no problems on other computers. I have deactivated the
antivirus programs and reloaded the drivers to no avail. My suspicions are
power supply and mother board. Computer specifications are as follows:
Chaintech CT-7NJL6 Motherboard
AMD Athlon XP 3000+
550 Watt SurePower Power Supply
1GB RAM
SoundBlaster Live! 24-bit Sound Card
GeForce FX 5500 256 MB AGP Video Card
Western Digital 160 and Western Digital 80 GB Hard drives
Dominator 52X CD-RW drive
Toshiba 16X Dual Layer DVD +/- RW drive
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks
