Windows XP unexpected restart when trying to use command prompt

Hello members,
My laptop(Windows XP) is restarting unexpectedly when I'm opening command prompt. Before I even type into the command prompt, it restarts.
I'll be grateful if anyone can resolve this issue.

Hi I am also facing the same problem, for winp home. Did you try modifying the systrem restore settings?
