Over the last 2/3 weeks I have had the experience of a program suddenly
closing. Firefox 1.05.02, Word, Outlook, Outlook Express are among the
victims. I'll be working within the program and suddenly, it has shut down.
No warnings, nothing. Motherboard? Ram?
Running WinXP Sp2 on an old Abit 6x2r board with a Celeron 1 gig cpu. (Caps
appear okay). TIA

Go and check your Event Viewer, it`ll give you a clue.

Usually RAM.

Sorry, I don't know how to do that.
Rt\click My Computer\Manage\Event Viewer.
In turn, click on each of the items, and then Dbl\click on any
errors\warnings.

Thanks. Stupid me went to Help after I sent that message and found
it. There are no errors/warnings on anything.

check memory 2 sticks? remove one. take it/them out and have it/them
tested or put it into another machine

for me this simply sounds like an annoying virus.
if ram is bad either the screen freezes (sometimes with some
disortions), bluescreen or at least some strange error messages appear.

but thats just my experience ;)
