Our PC (using Windows 2000 Professional) was attacked
yesterday by the W32.Blaster.Worm. It hit the system
before I had the chance to update Norton Anti Virus.
When initially hit, the worm would not allow access to the
Norton Security utilities. I restarted the system, and
only then were we able to update Norton and quarantine the
virus. On my first attempt at a restart, I received
an "unexpected kernel mode trap error" when I attempted to
use a program. Windows scanned the disk, then restared
automatically. After updating service packs and
downloading Symantec's fix, we are still experiencing
occasional "unexpected kernel mode trap" problems.
What can we do to repair this?
Thanks for the advice!
