Hi,
I want to create a new template/master for work presentations which is not
able to be edited by other people who using it.
I thought that maybe this was possible in versions before 07?
I have to send the template to faculty to apply to their presentations and
they often change bits that we dont want changed ie logo placement and
copyright clauses etc.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Corinne.

It's possible to lock bits of presentations IF you have a custom-written add-in
to do the work and IF you can get users to install the add-in.

Otherwise, there's no way to lock individual parts of presentations.

Ah. But in some cases you can convert the entire background PLUS immovable
bits to an image, then use that image as the slide background.

As John said, you can lock the background by turning it into an image. But
you cannot lock the position of placeholders or prevent them from using no
placeholders at all. So it is necessary to accompany your new template by
education (training how to use the new template and how to stick to the
Corporate Design) and/or provide them with documentation (printed, PPT, PDF)
on how to use the new template (and which elements not to touch). If users
understand WHY, they are more easily willing to "obey".

Best regards,
Ute
