Does anyone know how to undo a format of a drive?
My hard drive was formatted by someone who had no clue what they were doing and now I've lost all my work. I know there is a dos command that will attempt to undo a formatted disk, I just don't recall what it is.
Thanks for any help.

Hi,

You are thinking of the old "undelete" command, and that is not supported in
WinXP (which has no DOS in any case). Try a freeware file recovery tool:

Thanks Rick
I'm running a restore program now, if it doesn't work, I've bookmarked the page. :

What kind of restore program? Not from the CD's that came with the
PC/Laptop I hope. If so, if there was a chance to get you data back, it is
cost wise forever gone now.
