I was restoring my computer back to a certain point. I got a message that it
would not restore to that date. I read that you may not be able to restore to
a particular point if you were running virus software and there were infected
files at that point. The suggestion was to "turn off Restore then turn it
back on." The only problem with this is that it erases all of your
checkpoints. Now my most recent checkpoint doesn't have what I needed back on
the date I initially was looking for.

My question is: How can I go back to that date and pick up that application
and all that goes with it? Am I screwed?

Reinstall the app. Your data files should still be there,
unless you deleted them. If you deleted the data files
restore wouldn't have brought them back anyway.

System restore is NOT a backup program. If you have
data you don't want to lose you should have it backed up
to CD,DVD,or external drive. System restore is notorious
for becoming corrupt.
