Another odd question from the UK.

On a win2kserver machine, has anyone experience of the overhead of software
raid?

Because of a nother problem posted before, I need to rebuild a server that
is also my user machine. currently use win2kserver built in raid (simple
mirror) array. Have option to do in hardware with a adaptec raid card on
rebuild.

But not sure which will have highest overhead (Legacy FAT32 on most
directories for certain reasons) with a fast 3.8 cpu

Any experience please?

Hardware RAID is considered a better solution than software RAID. To the OS
it's "invisible" and just presented as storage space.

Thanks Mr. Steve
