Under NTDS some servers replicate, others don't

Hello,
Under NTDS settings of AD sites and services, when I
attempt to do a replication, some of the servers replicate
successfully and others give me the error message: "The
naming context is in the process of being removed or is
not replicated from the specified server." That is the
only message and there is no error in the System Event
Log.

Microsoft TID 319202 says to make sure the Allow Dynamic
Updates is checked. My DNS server is checked to allow
dynamic updates.

I can ping all the servers host names and receive a reply
with the assigned IP address. The only odd one is, when I
ping the DNS server, at the servers console, it comes back
with what appears to be a public IP address. If I ping
that servers' host name from another DC on the network, it
gives me the correct internal IP address. When I do an
ipconfig /all, I receive the correct private address that
I assigned to that server. I'm not sure why. I have made
some configuration changes that require a reboot, but I
will do that over the weekend.
Thanks For The Help,
Tim

Not sure if dns is running on a dc or not, but sounds like we've got a
"funny" dns entry here somewhere for that dns server. Verify that the dc's
do not also point to any alternate dns address outside of your internal dns
server/s for your domain. If you see any, remove them, and then run
"ipconfig /flushdns" and then"ipconfig /registerdns" to get their cache
flushed out. If you need to go to any outside dns set up a Forwarder on the
dns server/s to do that.
If you're getting a funny address on your ping to dns server, that need to
be fixed as it could be the source of your problems. Make sure there are
no host records there that don't belong etc.
