is there help for *accidental* del command inside command prompt?

for msdos6x there was very nice utility "undelete" which recovered files
100% succesfully [if sector not overwritten].
is there something simicar built into xp?

No.

This may be a moot point now, but in the future when you delete something or
empty your Recycle Bin and want to recover something from it... Stop using
the computer now. Your recovery chances are better if the file has not been
overwritten.

This is free.

Description
[[Restore files which are deleted from the recycle bin or deleted while
holding down the Shift key by mistake. Conversely, this program has another
function that makes it almost impossible to restore all deleted files. You
can use it after deletion of confidential documents, embarrassing files and
so on.]]

A "second" for Restoration. Get it, "install" it (anywhere) now and
then if and when you need it, no disk writes will be required before
one can use it.

I should also mention that there are some utilities that can "catch"
deletions in CMD.EXE and redirect them to the Recycle Bin. I never
have used any of them. Possibly a Google like
command line undelete windows
?
