Is there a way to delete some registry entries such as
"DeviceDesc", "Legacy_" that do not respond to the "Del"
key of the keyboard/mouse/menu?

I need to eliminate such registry entries that were left by
the unistall proceedure in order to reinstall an
application.

Thank you.

Have you tried in Safe Mode ?
Have you tried regedt32 ?

Use REGEDT32 instead of REGEDIT, highlight the LEGACY_
key you want to remove, go to Security/Permissions and give
Full Control to Everyone. Also make sure the bottom checkbox
is checked. Then delete the key (Edit/Delete).

Whatever you do, make sure to update/create your ERD first before
blowing away parts of the registry.

Use ntbackup.exe to create the ERD.
