Unclogging Epson Photo 825 - Tried Everything?

I made the mistake of leaving my 825 in a box for several months after
moving. The color is fine but almost half of the black nozzles are
clogged. I tried injecting the cartridge with Windex and even leaving
it over night with Windex on the capping pad. It has improved but the
some of the nozzles in the upper 2 rows are still not working. Is
there anything else I can try?

Send for an Epson cleaning manual from Arthur Entilich. It's comprehensive,
worth reading to understand what is going on, and has worthwhile options to
clear the black head. He isn't selling anything, and it's free.

You should talk to the guy who left his 880 unwrapped for years and claims it just started up fine with a minimum cleaning and works great.

I believe you.

Or just maybe he only used OEM ink.

Better to get one from Epson Tech Support.  I think they know more about the Epson printer than anyone.

The best way to deal with a few clogged nozzles is to make up a cleaning
cartridge filled with a windex/isopropyl alcohol solution and then print
large areas of the color in question. Over time the ink may dissolve
and the nozzle or ink channel become unclogged. It can take several
days or more or printing/cleaning cycles to get them unclogged. The
printing with solvent filled cartridge(s) does more good than the
cleaning cycles when in this situation.
