when I try to boot up XP it comes to a scren saying either
a software or hardware won't allow XP to boot....it gives
me a few options to choose from, either on I pick I get a
blue screen with some writing on it, but I can't read what
it says it disappears to qucik and my machine reboots. I
think it has to do with a registry problem...However I
can't boot from a CD and the boot disks give me an error
code 7. I tried to get help from MS but I have no idea
what my product ID is since I can't get into my XP...Any
ideas on how I can solve my problem would be appreciated!

Why won't it boot to CD? Check the BIOS to see if the CDROM is selected
before the hard drive in the boot sequence. If and when you can boot to the
CD rom run a repair on the OS and that should fix your problem. Its not the
1st repair option the comes up.

Thanks
