unauth change of menu tools/internet options/general tab

I am running Internet Explorer 6. Recently my homepage
switced to SearchV and I cannot chnage it back to my
choice. The problem is my General Tab in internet options
has disappeared. I therefore cannot change my homepage or
delete temporary internet files or dump my history
periodically.

Has anyone experienced this phenomina and if so how do you
correct it.

Any help would be appreciated.

CWShredder v1.08.1 (Kills Coolwebsearch and affiliates)

Unzip "cwshredder.zip" and run the included "CWShredder.exe"
Then follow up with either Ad-Aware or SpyBot, then HijackThis

Download "Hijack This!" [freeware] or download direct (below):

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates: "hijackthis.log")

Next, go to the below location:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/forums/

Sign in, go to the "Spyware and Hijackware Removal" section.
Press "New Topic", copy and paste hijackthis.log into your new message.
