I'm attempting to install Windows XP using the "unattended" feature without
using the CD. I copied the i386 folder onto a separate partition, booted the
comptuer with a Windows 98 boot disk, and from their entered the command to
use the unattended file and to use the winnt file in i386. After entering
the command the computer would go into the Windows setup screen, and begin to
copy the needed files, however, when it's done it'll give me a message
saying, "Please wait while windows install" (I think, can't remember), but
that's what it will do and nothing happens. Any ideas on why or what I did
wrong?

Thanks

How long did you wait? Setup is very slow using this method - it can take 3
or 4 hours to complete. If smartdrv was not loaded from the win98 boot
disk, it will take even longer to complete. Overnight is not unheard of.
