Hello,
I am currently having a issue where I am unable to write large files to
the servers on the LAN when I am using VPN. This also affects the
sourcesafe databases.
What I get is an error "the network name no longer exists". ie: the SMB
session has somehow been dropped. This leaves files in corrupt conditions.
setup:
server:
dsl
linksys dsl router (PPTP pass through turned on)
main machine:
windows 2000 IP 192.168.1.77
RAS (PPTP only, no L2TP)
IP range of clients 192.168.1.30-192.168.1.39
VNC
alternate:
windows 2000 IP 192.168.1.88
WINS
client:
cable
linksys cable router (PPTP pass through turned on)
windows 2000 IP 192.168.1.n (DHCP
VNC
I've also noticed that VNC is not working. pinging the server machines does
not work. and browsing and large files writing does not work.
Any ideas. I've been struggling with this for a month and can't figure the
problem. unless my (or both) isp's are blocking certain packets?
Salik.
