unable to work in an excel file and an access file at the same tim

While using Access/Excel 2007 I am not able to work in an excel file and an
access file at the same time, if the excel file links into the access
database. When updating queries into the database, I get a message saying
the data is unavailable. While using MS Office 2003, this was not a problem.
I need a Database Guru!
 
The ability to update linked Excel tables from within Access has been
removed, due to legal complications over the methods involved. This was once
possible in Office 2002 & 2003, but subsequent updates removed this
capability. It was never possible in '07.
