Unable to view shared calendar

I have been given full permission to view and edit another person's calendar
including private items. I have full custom permission and have made sure
that folder visible is checked on the user's calender. The user's calendar
that I am trying to view is using Microsoft Outlook 2000 and I am using
Outlook 2003. We are using Microsoft Exchange Server. However, when I open
the shared calendar, I can only see the current month. I cannot see items in
the following months and I get the error message "Could not read the
calendar. You do not have appropriate permission to perform this operation".
How can this issue be resolved? I need to be able to see the future months to
schedule accordingly. Does using two different versions of Outlook cause
this to happen? doesn't make sense that I can see the current month of the
other user's calendar but not the future months.

Outlook 2003 and 2000 don't always play well together - make sure 2000 has
all of the updates available for it.

Are you using cached mode in 2003? does it work in classic (non-cached)
mode?

We are not using cached mode, however, I think I've convinced him to switch
to 2003, hopefully that will take care of the problem.

I think I have resolved the issue. I have installed Office 2003 along with
the current updates onto the user's computer of the calendar that I need to
see. I continued to get the same error message when I tried to open up his
calendar, however, once in the shared calendar I right clicked and then
clicked on automatic formatting. The appointments in his calendar then
appeared.
