Unable to view "My Computer" properties as Administrator and other problems

I have a problem, when I try to start any program, I get
an error saying cannot access c:\program file\etc..
I also noticed I can not open explorer, but I can get
there through My Documents. The Winnt folder, when clicked
on shows 98 files but nothing in the window unless you
right click and say explore on it??? Anyone have a clue
whats up with this??? Please send email reply as well as
post. TIA
 
Sounds like some serious corruption in the shell. These may help.
